Retiree Medical Benefits

BHGE provides both pre-65 and post-65 retirees with medical coverage options.

Retiree Medical Benefits

You must be covered under an eligible BHGE active Medical plan at the time of retirement to be eligible for either the BHGE Retiree Medical plans or coverage through OneExchange (our Benefit Advisor for post-65 retiree benefits). You can still enroll in an individual plan to supplement Medicare on your own.

If you have questions about the Retiree Medical Account (RMA), read the FAQs.

Pre-65 Retiree Benefits

Medical Benefit Options

If you and/or your dependent(s) are under 65 years of age, you have several coverage choices. All Medical plans are in the UnitedHealthcare (UHC) network. If you enroll in Retiree Medical coverage, you automatically receive prescription drug coverage. These are your medical plan options:

  • UHC Basic PPO
  • UHC Catastrophic PPO

If your ZIP code is outside the UHC Choice Network service area, you and/or your dependent(s) will be offered the out-of-area options.

  • UHC Basic Out-of-Area PPO*
  • UHC Catastrophic Out-of-Area PPO

Click here to read the Retiree Benefits Guide, which includes charts of the medical benefit options, what’s covered and more information about out-of-area coverage. For information on 2019 pre-65 retiree medical rates, please contact the BHGE Benefits Center at 1-866-244-3539.
